Amelia's slender fingers tightened around the pencil as she rushed to scratch out the last of the questions on her history test. She paused to brush a bit of hair off her face, tugging it behind her right ear. Once again her face inched closer the the desk, intensely scribbling away. No, no. That's wrong. She flipped over the pencil and erased the last bit, before rewriting a sentence. The bell rang just as she finished.
There was a spasm of paper rustling around her as students rushed out of the room, nearly throwing test at the teacher as they went.
Amelia handed in her test and pulled out her phone. 'TWO NEW MESSAGES' it read. Both were from Sophia. She pushed the phone back into her pocket and hurried down the hall and out the door. She searched for a familiar face in the sea of teenagers.

So I've got quite the little issue. A certain boy has caught my eye. Now it's not just a little "oh he's cute'. Nuh-no. It's a thing I've had for four years. And I think he knows, and he kinda sorta think he feels the same way. But god damn why won't he just tell me?!?! I mean honestly you look at the boy and you may see something plain, nothing special. But that makes me like him all the more. Special is over rated. Special gets you people groveling at your feet. Sucking up hoping your beauty will rub off on them. People kinda pass him by, and I think that's one of the things we have in common, cause I'm pretty plain looking too. Sure maybe one or two guys may think I'm cute, but they don't seem to be knocking down my door. So why can't he? But mostly I wish he would just tell me if he did or didn't like me. Because then there would be closure, and I could move on.

Don't Slow Down

Don't Slow Down
Hello Darlings! In case you haven't noticed, this is NOT one of the tips I have been making recently. Instead, I've taken a stab at the Mark. contest, featuring guest judges Ashley Greene the mark. brand ambassador who took over from the lovely Lauren Conrad, and designer Rebecca Minkoff whom you may remember from the contest Polyvore held a few months ago. I have a girl-crush on these two ladies, yes a girl crush. Ashley has such pretty hair and her bone structure is to die for (curse you mom and dad and your lack of cheekbones). While Rebecca's lines are always inspiring (I would die for her signature MAC). I am also a long-time fan of mark.

What is 'mark.' you ask? Well it is a branch of the company Avon, it is geared towards more teens, and young adults, however many of it's products are enjoyed by those both young and old.

My grandmother, has been an Avon rep for years, so naturally I find myself pouring over mark. magalogs and asking for gifts from the latest campaign. Right now, mark. is being inspired by the beautiful city of New York. Fashion capital of the world, it is host to some fantastic street wear. Menswear mixed with girly handbags, lace tights and glittery statement jewelry. It is sure to be a successful campaign.

Mark. However is not just for getting your latest fashion treasure, but it's also for make up. You might have seen some of it's products in Seventeen Magazine, or on the youtube-famous makeup guru sisters, elle (allthatglitters21) and blair's(juicystar07) channels.

I find these products to be not only wittily named, but of high quality. I'm almost never seen without their Save The Day acne fighting concealer, or one of their hook-ups. So I've decided to share a few of my favorite pieces and products, as well as tell you guys how I wear or use them. So lets get this show on the road!

SKINCARE::
01.) Shine Fighter Oil-Control Mask
This mask is such a pretty color to me, and it goes on smoothly, if you use as directed you can definitely tell that your face is much less oily. I recommend this to anyone with shiny oily skin, or combination skin. I wouldn't say you should use this with dry skin as it might make you dry out more!
02.)Save The Day Anti-Acne Concealer Stick
As I said before, this stuff is my must have. It works well, and is the size of a lip gloss, so its easy to fit in a clutch, your back pack, or even your pocket.

MAKEUP:
01.) Glow Baby Glow Hook Up Lipgloss
Hookups are so versatile and are great two-in one products. These lip glosses are in such pretty colors, and smell nice an minty so your breath smells even fresher!
02.)Get Bright Hook Up Highlighter
I really enjoy this product because when used, it gives a nice glow, showing off certain areas of my face. I like to use it under my brow for a more defined arch, as well has in the inner corners of my eyes to brighten them as well as my entire face.
03.)Get In Line Hook Up Liquid Waterproof Eyeliner
Liquid liner is hard to master, but it looks so good once you can get the hang of it! I like using this to make winged cats eyes (this Lauren Conrad).
04.)No Place To Run Long wear Eyeliner
This stuff just glides across the lid, and when I first did a swatch of it, it stayed for so long!
05.)Make It Big Lash Plumping Mascara
I never leave the house without mascara, and this is one of my go-tos. Here is a tip: wriggle the wand from base to tip to make sure to coat every lash, and prevent clumps.
06.)Get A Tint Tinted facial Moisturizer with SPF 15
We all know the dangers of UV Rays, so I always wear something with protection!
07.)Matte-Nificent Oil-Absorbing Powder
It mattes me down and is quick and easy, perfect for using right after a sweaty gym class!

JEWELRY:
01.)Scene Stealer Necklace
I feel that statement jewelry can apm up an outfit, making it go from really casual to a dressier look. These can be worn with so much, but I suggest your other jewelry be kept to a minimum, as to make the necklace pop.

APPAREL:
01.)Lace It Up Tights
These will most likely be a favorite of my fall to winer attire, as I love skirts, and dresses, but I need something to warm it up (I swear, tights are almost as warm as jeans). I think they add a hint of girly edge to any outfit! I'd rock these with black boots.
02.)Totally Suitable Blazer
I am in love love love with blazers right now. They add class, to any outfit. I like both the fitted and the boyfriend style ones. If you want ideas on outfits to wear with them, check out Blake Lively, Blazers are a staple for her closet.

There you are everyone, I hope this brought a great company into your radar, as well as gave you some new tips and ideas for outfits! Please feel free to add me as a contact, like my set, or comment on it! I really hope I win this contest!

Much Love

Juniors + Seniors ; UpperClassmen

Juniors + Seniors ; UpperClassmen
Hello Darlings!!

So one thing thing that I find to be a HUGE misconception in high school is that, Upperclassmen mens' life goal is to make your world hell. LIES!!

Upperclassmen are just trying to do the same thing as you, get through this travesty we call school. The girls aren't the plastics, come to reak havoc.

ALTHOUGH! You shouldn't be the underclassmen who clog up the hallways. It pisses most everyone else off. Thus you SHOULD NOT stay in the middle of the hallway, talking to your friends. If it can't wait until lunch/after school/your next class together, move over towards the lockers

Also don't go flirting around with the upperclassmen girls' boyfriends. This will cause wrath and hatred, and you'll also looking like a rhymes with shore.

GUYS! Now some guys genuinely like you, but some, just want to get into your pants. Be wary of this. If some upperclassmen guy randomly comes up to you, and ask you out, he may just want to get in your pants. But if you've been talking, and you seem to have a connection, he probably actually like you.

I've seen some sob stories of girls who don't even realize their being used. One girl, didn't even know, but her 'boyfriend' who was a senior was often heard bragging about how he was getting laid by this freshman girl, not even his girlfriend. Just this freshman girl.

Don't let yourself get stomped on!

Hope this helped. Much love, and good luck

Whats In Your Bag

Whats In Your Bag
Hello Darlings!!

I don't know about you, but my school lets me carry around bags. This means I like to keep stocked up on things you may need throughout the day. What are these things you ask? Well let me show you.

001.)BACKPACKS! Now this can be a traditional back pack, or a tote bag. Which ever you prefer!
Here are some cute ones:
You can always 'customize' with markers if your parents allow it!

002.) BOOKS! Now I switch half way through the day, by this I mean during the morning, I'll carry around the books for my morning classes, and before lunch I'll visit my locker, drop off the 'morning books' and pick up my books for the afternoon classes. Lockers are great, because who really wants to be carrying around all of those books and binders?

Now I can't tell you what to bring, but I suggest you buy the 5 Star notebooks, and color code things! It will make it easier, just buy general supplies though because you don't know how big of a binder a teacher may want!

003.)COSMETICS! I don't keep much just a burt's bee's lip balm, a little emergency concealer, and some blotting papers.
Blotting papers too expensive? Learn how to make some ( and a cute case) from one of my favorite youtubers here!:

004.)SNACKS! It is suggested that you eat 5 meals a day to keep you healthy! I like little snacks such as granola, and other bars.

005.)WATER! It is so important to your health to drink water, also you may feel less hungry if you drink water!

006.)LUNCH! I keep this in my locker until I get to the actual lunch period, but I suggest bringing lunch from home, way more cost efficient, and a lot healthier. I'm going to make a set on healthy lunch ideas soon!

007.)MY EMERGENCY KIT! This little devil saves my day all the time! I keep my stuff in a little cosmetic's case, and it's in my bag 24/7. In it I keep:
-Tampons (You can keep pads in it if that's what you prefer)
-I USED to carry advil for cramps, until I found out it's against the rules but if it isn't where you are, by all means take it!
-Breath mints/ Gum ( I think we all know the reason for this)
-When I had braces I kept colgate wisps
-A few bandages, just in case!
-I also like keeping a travel size deodorant, in my bag AND in my gym locker, just in case I get smelly during the day
-I know some girls keep a roll on, or mini perfume/body splash in their bag, again to smell good

008.)A DAY PLANNER! My school gives on to me, but if yours doesn't go get one!

009.) TONS OF PENS AND PENCILS! People are always stealing mine! So stock up!

010.) IPODS/CELLPHONES/EARPHONES! If your not allowed to have these then don't carry them, but don't be caught with an ipod and no headphones!

I may add more, and again I'll link to the lunch and snack ideas once I make it so check back then! What do you carry in YOUR book bag? Comment below, and add me as a contact!

Hope this helped. Much love, and good luck

So You're A Freshman

So You're A Freshman
Hello Darlings!!

High school is a scary place. I know that feeling when you walk in on the first day and all you can think is "Oh my god, I'm about to pee my pants". Trust me, no one will give you wedgies, the Plastics aren't real, and the worst is behind you.

People, Middle School, is the stereotypical high school you hear about. No lie, once your in high school, you'll look back on your middle school with a shake of your head and a shiver down your spine.

You ask yourself, what were you thinking?!? Look at those outfits. how could you have acted like that! Why on earth did you like him? How were you even friends with her?!?!

High school is the time to grow, to break out of the cookie cutter mold and create your unique self, through extra curriculars such as clubs and sports.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

More work, of course this is a given, but try and bear in mind that colleges don't look at your grades from 8th grade, but they DO look at your high school ones. Try and make a goal GPA, and study hard to attain it!

Boys DO change and the DON'T. They do change in the way they hey, they start looking a little better, and some of the nerdy ones start even looking a bit cuter. But there is still the douche guys and they only get nastier.

DO expect illegal things. If you don't your a fool. Just stay away from it. Like I said in a previous set, if your friends aren't cool with your choices to not do any of that, you shouldn't be friends with them anyways.

Expect that people will change. you'll find yourself looking back on old photos, and realize you don't even talk to that person anymore!

MY ADVICE TO YOU GUYS:

-Be friendly!!!!! Don't shy away into the corner, try and find your niche! If you can't find one, well make one!

-Try your hardest with school work! Don't get lazy!

-Don't stress, it leads to acne, mental break downs, and *gasp* wrinkles!!!

-TRY and stay organized

SOME TIPS AND TRICKS:
-Bring an Emergency pack : COMING SOON
-Bring snacks to munch on between classes: COMING SOON
-If your grade isn't what you want it to be, check your teacher's homework policy and see if you can make up anything even for partial credit! Also go ask your teacher for extra credit! They will be proud that you took initiative, and most will likely give you one!

Thats all I can think of for now, I may add some later, so check back. Do you have tips and tricks? Or advice for Freshman? Leave it in the comments below! Add me as a contact for constant updates on my high school survival guide!

Hope this helped. Much love, and good luck

Back To The Basics

Back To The Basics
Hello Darlings!!

Something I've seen a TON of times in the style advice section on polyvore is what are the basics to a girl's wardrobe. While this is my personal opinion on what is needed, you do not have to go ou and buy all of these things, it's merely what I believe are the 'basics'.

The basics are the , building blocks, if you will. You can create hundreds of different styles, and outfits out of these. So without further adu, lets get started!

:TOPS:

Now the thing with tops is that there are basics, but you should also have a special pieces of your own choosing to make your wardrobe, unique, making your outfits pop!

-Light flowy t-shirts ( I find these look really simple and are good to match with something with a pattern, or cute jewlery!)

-Camisoles (STOCK UP! I wear these under so much so that my bra doesn't show, I have them in a wide range of colors. It also doesn't matter if you want smooth, ribbed, razor-back, lace edge, or satin edge, your choice!)

-Button Up Blouses ( I'm in love with buttons ups, fitted, loose, striped, solid, whatever. I find they go great and are such a classic piece. Try an oxford! Sleeves rolled up is my way to go!)

-Other Blouses (Flowy Blouses are really cute, whether belted to give shape to the body, or left loose with other fitted pieces such as skinny jeans)

-Sweaters ( Such a variety I say have one V-neck as I feel they can be very sultry without being overly sexy, but it's all your choice on which kind you want!)

OUTERWEAR:

-Blazers ( soooo cute to me, I like these with loose t-shirts for a casual vibe, go look at Blake Lively, she rocks this look)

-Cardigans (These are a very cute warming addition to anything! Cute in all seasons! I prefer them unbuttoned)

-Jackets ( I personally like the jackets that Blair Waldorf in Gossip Girl wears for the winter, very girly! Also I feel a leather jacket is iconic! You should also have a cute rain jacket on hand at all times!)

-Sweatshirts ( I say reserve for your house if they are the pull over the head kind with the single giant pocket in the front, you can also wear zip ups however, but try and make the rest of the look a bit more polished so that you don't look sloppy!)

BOTTOMS:

-Jeans ( I say a pair of skinny jeans, but that's just me, also another pair that are not skinny jeans. It's a bit hard to write about this as there are sooo many different types of jeans, so find a fit and wash you think is flattering and go with it!)

-Sweatpants ( I say reserve these for your house!! I don't think they are suitable for school!)

-Pants ( I personally don't have too many of these, but it's nice to have a pair or two in a neutral color)

-Shorts ( I say have some athletic pairs for working out, a few jean pairs, and don't let these be super short, no one wants to see your butt! Also some other pairs, shorts look so cute in so many different colors and patterns. Don't make all of your shorts the stereotypical A&F low waisted, super short kind!)

-Skirts (Have AT LEAST one go to skirt, high waisted, pencil, flowy, what ever you think looks best on you! I love love love skirts sooo much!)

SHOES:

-Ballet flats (These are super cute, easy, and can even polish an outfit)

-Heels (Have a pair of good heels on hand, I say black or brown just so if you come to an event needing more formal attire, you don't need to go get new shoes!)

-Boots (These can be flat, or if you do want heel, try and keep it chunky, nothing stilleto!)

-Sneakers (You neeeeeed them for gym and for working out!)

-Flip Flops (Any kind!)

-Sandals

DRESSES:

-Day Dress

-An evening dress (No not prom, but something you could go to a dinner date in)

ACCESSORIES:

-Belts ( They can hold up your pants, and give tops shape, I say stock up in wide, and skinny belts! All colors!)

-Tights ( These are my savior in the New England weather, they are an instant warm up to any outfit! I say have AT LEAST one black pair, and you can stock up in other colors, and even lace!)

-Headbands ( I personally like how they can make your hair look a bit more polished even if you've done nothing to it, also they can heklp keep the hair out of your eyes all day long!)

-A silk scarf (so versatile)

- Sunglasses(Self explanatory)

JEWLERY:

-Bangles

-Oversized/cocktail ring

-Pendant necklace

-Statement Necklace

-Regular ring

-Bracelets

Hope this helped. Much love, and good luck
-Kenzi AKA ϟ Kenzistic ϟ

OUTFIT TIP OF THE DAY:
Honey, you don't need to wear UGGs everyday! Wearing them with sweatpants is sloppy for school! Keep it for at your house when it's cold out! Also, Leggings are not pants, thus Leggings and UGGs shouldn't be worn! UGGS also shouldn't be worn with shorts, or a skirt (unless your wearing tights), it's like What are you? Warm legs and freezing feet?

Nice Girls Don't Always Finish Last

Nice Girls Don't Always Finish Last
Hello Darlings!!

You'll learn that in high schools all across the country, word travels fast, and people (especially teenagers) are prone to judgement. Don't be caught up in that.

I personally find that you'll make more friends, and get more connections through being nice to people, rather than being a rhymes with shore, type girl who enjoys back stabbing.

You see, not doing certain things doesn't make you 'prude' or a loser. It's your choice not to do things your not comfortable with! And if the people your around don't accept that, well then honey find some new friends because those aren't the kids you should be with.

I try and talk to the new kid if I get a chance, mostly because I was once the new girl, and i know just how it feels. Trust me I know how it feels, moving to a new place, where you don't have any friends, you don't know your way around, and you just simply feel lost, left out, and alone. Even if she turns out to not have that much in common with you, at least you went out of your way to help someone! Others will see this as a great quality!

One a personal note, when I was a freshman, half way through the year a new girl came to school, and guess what? I invited her to eat lunch with me. We're actually pretty close and we're having an HP movie marathon before the new one comes out!

ANYWHO!!

Like I said earlier no one wants to be known as the girl who is a rhymes with shore. Don't go stealing other people's boyfriends, it's rude. Don't go hooking up with every guy around, it makes you look cheap, and don't go wearing your most scandalous attire, it's very tacky.

Girls won't want to be around you, and guys will only want you for one thing. Thus you won't build lasting meaningful relationships with anyone except your dog.

Backstabbing friends is a biggg no-no. I know from personal experience that, once you do something to one friend (and no i wasn't the one doing something to another), your other friends might just see you as a two-faced person. So don't go around stealing from others, are saying very hurtful, unnecessary comments (seriously people will take it as an insult and be left wounded by your words).

A smile is the best thing you can wear! Say hello! People will take this as you being inviting, and they will find themselves more comfortable around you. Thus more friends!

I believe in being classy, not trashy!

I found the book Classy by Derek Blasberg, to be hilarious, and it even had some really good points!

Hope this helped. Much love, and good luck
-Kenzi AKA ϟ Kenzistic ϟ

OUTFIT TIP OF THE DAY:
Don't splurge on some new hot trend you saw in a magazine, because as we all know, fashions fade. try getting them cheaper at other stores, such as F21, H&M, and Urban Outfitters. Splurge on some of the classier pieces that every girl needs, like a little black dress, or a pair of good heels!

A Word On Confidence

A Word On Confidence
Hello Darlings!!

I firmly believe that confidence is key. This rings especially true in high school. The sad truth is, once your in high school, you'll soon see change in a lot of people. It's a fact that many friends grow apart, they no longer share the same interest, they never see each other, or they get in fights (trust me I've had my fair share of friend loss and I feel for those who've gone through it).

However! There is hope! All you need is a smile, and a friendly personality.

You see the thing is, that I believe that the nice girls finish first in the end, sure you don't want to get stomped on, but trust me, people will end up liking you a lot more if your willing to listen, and talk without being mean. But we'll talk about how to get more people to like you later.

Now the thing with confidence is that you don't want to be overly confident, but you don't want to be a mute. You see people who are in your face, tend to come off as quite annoying. So instead I suggest joining a club, or a sport. These activities can help you pull you out of your shy shell, and force you to mingle with others.

For example when I joined cheerleading, I was forced to shout, and I had to be able to trust my team mates, this gave me confidence that not only could I accomplish something by getting on the team, but it also helped me make new friends.

You don't have to be an incoming freshman to 'reinvent yourself' you can even be a senior and decide to be more outgoing.

High School isn't the time to pass all your possibilities by! It's the time to take a chance. Ask the guy for a dance, and be the one to go up to the new girl and invite her to lunch. Don't fear the outcomes! What is the worst you they can say? No? Then you can just say "Cool, I'm going to go talk to that kid over there who seems way cooler anyways!"
Honestly you can't be afraid! You can do it, if you care enough, have enough passion, or are willing enough, you can get the great grade in your spanish class, you can get on the soccer team, and you can get the guy! BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!!!!!

If you are having trouble in believing in yourself, try looking back at all the things you HAVE accomplished, you'll be amazed at the things you have done, and it will help you push yourself to do better!

SMILE BABE! Look people in the eye and SMILE! Shoulder's back, spine straight, chin up. SMILE. Cause honey no one can put you down if you refuse to go any where but up!

I hope this helped everyone! Leave me a comment below, or send em a pm on something your worried about for high school! Maybe I'll even make a set about my thought on it!

Hope this helped. Much love, and good luck
-Kenzi AKA ϟ Kenzistic ϟ

OUTFIT ADVICE OF THE DAY!

Try not to use too many flowy pieces at once, the clothing can drown you, hiding your beautiful body! Also it is my personal opinion that too many fitted items, or tight pieces, look bad. It can show muffin tops even if you don't really have one! I feel it just is a bit too extreme, try something like skinny jeans and a flowy/ loose top!
