Hello Darlings!!
Something I've seen a TON of times in the style advice section on polyvore is what are the basics to a girl's wardrobe. While this is my personal opinion on what is needed, you do not have to go ou and buy all of these things, it's merely what I believe are the 'basics'.
The basics are the , building blocks, if you will. You can create hundreds of different styles, and outfits out of these. So without further adu, lets get started!
:TOPS:
Now the thing with tops is that there are basics, but you should also have a special pieces of your own choosing to make your wardrobe, unique, making your outfits pop!
-Light flowy t-shirts ( I find these look really simple and are good to match with something with a pattern, or cute jewlery!)
-Camisoles (STOCK UP! I wear these under so much so that my bra doesn't show, I have them in a wide range of colors. It also doesn't matter if you want smooth, ribbed, razor-back, lace edge, or satin edge, your choice!)
-Button Up Blouses ( I'm in love with buttons ups, fitted, loose, striped, solid, whatever. I find they go great and are such a classic piece. Try an oxford! Sleeves rolled up is my way to go!)
-Other Blouses (Flowy Blouses are really cute, whether belted to give shape to the body, or left loose with other fitted pieces such as skinny jeans)
-Sweaters ( Such a variety I say have one V-neck as I feel they can be very sultry without being overly sexy, but it's all your choice on which kind you want!)
OUTERWEAR:
-Blazers ( soooo cute to me, I like these with loose t-shirts for a casual vibe, go look at Blake Lively, she rocks this look)
-Cardigans (These are a very cute warming addition to anything! Cute in all seasons! I prefer them unbuttoned)
-Jackets ( I personally like the jackets that Blair Waldorf in Gossip Girl wears for the winter, very girly! Also I feel a leather jacket is iconic! You should also have a cute rain jacket on hand at all times!)
-Sweatshirts ( I say reserve for your house if they are the pull over the head kind with the single giant pocket in the front, you can also wear zip ups however, but try and make the rest of the look a bit more polished so that you don't look sloppy!)
BOTTOMS:
-Jeans ( I say a pair of skinny jeans, but that's just me, also another pair that are not skinny jeans. It's a bit hard to write about this as there are sooo many different types of jeans, so find a fit and wash you think is flattering and go with it!)
-Sweatpants ( I say reserve these for your house!! I don't think they are suitable for school!)
-Pants ( I personally don't have too many of these, but it's nice to have a pair or two in a neutral color)
-Shorts ( I say have some athletic pairs for working out, a few jean pairs, and don't let these be super short, no one wants to see your butt! Also some other pairs, shorts look so cute in so many different colors and patterns. Don't make all of your shorts the stereotypical A&F low waisted, super short kind!)
-Skirts (Have AT LEAST one go to skirt, high waisted, pencil, flowy, what ever you think looks best on you! I love love love skirts sooo much!)
SHOES:
-Ballet flats (These are super cute, easy, and can even polish an outfit)
-Heels (Have a pair of good heels on hand, I say black or brown just so if you come to an event needing more formal attire, you don't need to go get new shoes!)
-Boots (These can be flat, or if you do want heel, try and keep it chunky, nothing stilleto!)
-Sneakers (You neeeeeed them for gym and for working out!)
-Flip Flops (Any kind!)
-Sandals
DRESSES:
-Day Dress
-An evening dress (No not prom, but something you could go to a dinner date in)
ACCESSORIES:
-Belts ( They can hold up your pants, and give tops shape, I say stock up in wide, and skinny belts! All colors!)
-Tights ( These are my savior in the New England weather, they are an instant warm up to any outfit! I say have AT LEAST one black pair, and you can stock up in other colors, and even lace!)
-Headbands ( I personally like how they can make your hair look a bit more polished even if you've done nothing to it, also they can heklp keep the hair out of your eyes all day long!)
-A silk scarf (so versatile)
- Sunglasses(Self explanatory)
JEWLERY:
-Bangles
-Oversized/cocktail ring
-Pendant necklace
-Statement Necklace
-Regular ring
-Bracelets
Hope this helped. Much love, and good luck

OUTFIT TIP OF THE DAY:
Honey, you don't need to wear UGGs everyday! Wearing them with sweatpants is sloppy for school! Keep it for at your house when it's cold out! Also, Leggings are not pants, thus Leggings and UGGs shouldn't be worn! UGGS also shouldn't be worn with shorts, or a skirt (unless your wearing tights), it's like What are you? Warm legs and freezing feet?
